Homemade Salsa Recipe 

The Mrs Wages comes in hot and mild. To the packet, I add 6 lbs of tomatoes (that is usually 10-12 good sized tomatoes) that I scalded and peeled, cored and chopped coarsely. If you add more then the salsa is thinner. I do not drain the liquid from the chopped tomatoes. I add 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar. These directions are on the back of the Mrs. Wages packets.

 

You can chop up and add any other fresh vegetables you might have on hand. I like my salsa chunky so I add green peppers, jalapeño peppers, and onion.

 

You can eat it fresh, freeze or can. I hot water can mine. Although the packets says to process 40 mins, I process 20 in pint jars. I don’t want it over cooked.
